No. Every design that is published by Small and Nice is made by humans. Or more specifically, one human named Anna Moorhouse. (Hi, it’s me, Anna.)

As a self-taught graphic designer, 3D modeler, and miniature artist, I’m always learning more about the craft and love finding new ways to create tiny things. I also take a lot of pride in doing creative projects the long way, to embrace the joy of the process and resist rushing through the “messy middle” of a project.

This means that every Small and Nice design released goes through substantial prototyping and testing phases and gets refined through lots of trial and error. Typically, I’ll have multiple designs in the works, and models will be completed and released when they’re ready, rather than on a set schedule.

I use Autodesk Fusion to create every 3D model, and then export it as a 3MF file to slice it in Bambu Studio. I test each print and try to orient all parts to provide the cleanest print surfaces with the least amount of supports or waste filament. The majority of my prints don’t require an AMS (Automatic Material System) for multicolour, but instead I separate out parts by colour on separate plates whenever possible. My workhorse printer is a Bambu Lab P1S.

For my product photos, I have a very budget set-up using a DIY photo booth (shown below) made from a cardboard box, white poster paper, an old nylon shower curtain, and many lamps. It’s not pretty, but it works. I edit my photos in Adobe Photoshop.

We sell our paid 3D printable model files (STLs and 3MF) on a few different platforms:

You can also explore our Catalog, which lists where each model (free and paid) can be downlaoded.

Currently, we don’t sell physical prints of our models, only the digital files.
